This project reimagines the sales center as an exhibition-like environment—less a place for transaction than a space that reflects Hualien’s landscape, climate, and cultural imagination.
Organized around a looping circulation, the interior encourages movement and exchange without prescribing a fixed route or rigid zones. The space remains open, transparent, and permeable, reconnecting visitors with the mountains, water, and natural setting of Hualien.
The material language draws from the region’s agricultural landscape and everyday vernacular structures. Layered bamboo weaving introduces depth and porosity, allowing light and air to filter through the space. In Ji’an, Hualien, Amis craft traditions are closely tied to daily life, using materials such as ramie, bamboo, and rattan to create objects through interlacing techniques of varying density.
By translating these methods into spatial construction, the project weaves together the light, wind, and culture of Ji’an, transforming local craft and natural conditions into a contemporary architectural experience.
